Vascular Surgery
Vascular surgery is performed by Drs. Butt, Carrato, and Bono for
the treatment of diseases of the arteries and veins. It encompasses
the treatment of diseases of the blood vessels in all areas but
the heart. Artery problems of the lower extremities include occlusions,
or blockages within the arteries, and aneurysms, or a ballooning
of the artery caused by the weakening of the arterial wall.
Common disorders treated by the surgeons include blocked arteries
in the extremities, abdomen and neck, aneurysms and varicose veins.
Vascular surgery performed by the doctors includes repair
of abdominal aortic aneurysm, bypass
surgery, carotid endarterectomy, creation
of arterio-venous fistulas, and placement
of central lines.
